Students believe in increased vigilance in the country’s police training courses after recent days of information about gang criminals infiltrating the police force during the training period.
– It is clear that this creates food for thought, says police student Oscar Lindskog.
Police officers are being recruited by gang criminals to leak classified information, a review shows Today’s news has made. The review also shows how gang criminals infiltrate the police force already during training.
Students at Borås’ police training now believe that vigilance at the country’s police schools must increase even more.
“Was quite shocked”
– I was quite shocked. I understood that it could happen, but you think that everyone who is here is here for the same intentions, says Maja Paulsson, a student at the police training.
Police training today includes lectures and lessons where the threat from outside and what the service entails are discussed. Police student Oscar Lindskog says that it is clear that this creates food for thought.
– You become a little more careful when you study what you do and know what the profession will entail in the future. You always try to keep an extra eye on who you talk to and who you become friends with, he says.
Does not change the education
But the management at the police training in Borås believes that even today unsuitable students are screened out before they even start school. And that there is no reason to change the education solely because of the information of the last few days.
– No, I don’t see us changing anything due to what has happened here in the last few days. On the other hand, both of us at the five universities that provide the education and the police authority are always up to date with what is happening in the outside world and what challenges exist locally and globally and in what way we need to adapt and change the content of the program, says Stina Sundling, director of the academy at the police academy in Borås.
