Police shot two – investigation closed

Because the police officers used service weapons, their actions were investigated, but that investigation has now been closed, writes The evening paper.

“The police officers needed to use their firearms to ward off ongoing or imminent violence against themselves,” writes Nicklas Englund, chief prosecutor at the Special Prosecutor’s Chamber, in his decision.

The shooting drama happened late in the evening on October 23.

Nicklas Englund has previously told TT that the police used weapons against one of the men who was aggressive and that the other man was hit by a “ricochet or similar by mistake”.

After the incident, one of the men was suspected of grossly unlawful threats against an official.
