After he sent the picture to a female colleague, the man is said to have excused his behavior by blaming immaturity, drunkenness and that the picture was an “attempt to be charming”. An explanation that the police region believes is a pure reconstruction.
The whole incident was reported and a preliminary investigation into the case was started by the Special Prosecutor’s Chamber – but was dropped by the prosecutor. The man has previously been investigated for a similar incident.
May receive a warning
The police region believes that the whole thing is extremely inappropriate and not compatible with how a police officer is expected to behave in relation to his colleagues. The recommended penalty for the man should, however, stop at a warning for the misconduct, says police region North in its response to the police personnel responsibility board.
