“Within this dispute, a spectator from the stands approached and assaulted one of the players, resulting in minor injuries.”
Jean Montgomery, who heads the basketball league and was refereeing the game, said she didn’t see the alleged assault but said two players on opposite teams were “face-to-face” arguing a short time before.
“I told everyone to go to their bench,” Montgomery said. “They weren’t going to play.”
After that, she said, a woman believed to be a relative of one of players “came over and was yelling at people.” Then, Montgomery said, she was told another woman “came over and punched a player on the other team.”

Montgomery said several arguments broke out and the game was shut down and the gym cleared.
“It was de-escalated very quickly. We had everyone leave.”
Montgomery said it was an unfortunate incident for the fun men’s league, which includes players ranging from about age 20 to 40.
“We’ve had no problems at all,” she said.
Police say the person believed to be the suspect is a female described as being about five-foot-two, with a large build and brown hair. She is described as wearing a pink coat, a dark blue hooded sweater, blue jeans and black boots.
Anyone with information about the incident, including video footage, is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip at helpsolvecrime.com
