Brantford Police Service is seeking information from anyone who witnessed a collision on Saturday afternoon that injured two pedestrians.

Police say a 57-year-old Burlington man has been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm after a vehicle left the roadway in the area of ​​Edmondson Street, between West Street and Wayne Gretzky Parkway, and hit the outside of the Starbucks coffee shop on West Street at about 4:30 pm

Two people in the area at the time were injured and taken to hospital for treatment. Police say their injuries are not life-threatening.

Police say officers at the scene saw open containers of alcohol in the vehicle and the driver showed signs of impairment.

Two breath samples provided by the driver were twice the legal blood alcohol limit, say police.

The accused also has been charged with 80 Plus; dangerous operation cause bodily harm; driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor; and fail to have insurance card.
