Police seek help to identify man in connection with indecent

Police said they are looking for a male suspect in the Aug. 19 armed robbery of a Lynden Road convenience store.

Police said the suspect is black and about five-foot-five. He was wearing a black face mask, black hooded track suit, gloves and a ball cap.

The man entered the store at about 10 pm, approached an employee, displayed a firearm and demanded money, police said.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the man left the store.

The employee was not physically injured during the incident, police said.

A search of the area by K-9 unit was unsuccessful.

A 39-year-old Brantford man has been charged with uttering threats, assault and mischief under $5,000 following an incident just after 5 pm on Aug. 23 in the area of ​​Paris and Ava roads.

Police said one motorist accessed another of cutting him off and threatening him. Both drivers pulled into a Paris Road parking lot.

One driver was punched while he was sitting in his vehicle, police said. And driver’s side window of his vehicle was broken.

The victim received minor injuries and did not require medical attention, police said.

Store owner assaulted

A 35-year-old man faces numerous charges following an Aug. 25 disturbance near a Dalhousie Street store.

Police were called to investigate a report of a man yelling at people near the store.

Police said the store owner asked the man to move along but he became aggressive. The store owner was punched and threatened with a bicycle chain, police said.

The man is charged with assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assaulting police and resisting arrest.

Man charged in break-in

A 33-year-old Brantford man faces theft-related charges after money was stolen from an Colborne Street apartment on Aug. 24. Police said the unlocked apartment was entered and an undisclosed amount of money was stolen from a purse. The victim was home at the time but did not see the theft, police said. Police arrested a suspect nearby and returned the victim’s property. The man is charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000 and breach of probation.

Woman charged with theft

Police have charged a 32-year-old Brantford woman with theft, fraud under $5,000, three counts of possession and using a stolen credit card. The charges stem from an investigation that began Aug. 21 when police were told that a woman’s purse had been stolen and fraudulent charges were made using the victim’s credit and debit cards. The accused was arrested at his home without incident.
