Police respond to fights involving 150 youths in Caledonia one

A 16-year-old has been charged after police responded to multiple fights involving about 150 youth at the Caledonia Fairgrounds on Friday night.

Haldimand OPP were called to the Caithness Street East fairgrounds at about 8 p.m.

Haldimand OPP responded to a report of a large altercation at the Caledonia Fairgrounds. The officers required the assistance of the Norfolk and Brant OPP and the Emergency Response Team in order to break up the fighting and disperse the crowd.

There were no reports of serious injury.

A 16-year-old, whose identity is restricted under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged under the Liquor License Act with public intoxication.
