Police Report: OPP probe threatening message at Corunna school

“Enhanced safety measures” are in place at a Corunna public school after provincial police probed an alleged threatening message this week, Lambton Kent District school board says.

“It was deemed that there is no immediate threat to student or staff safety,” a board release said. “However, as a precaution, enhanced safety measures have been put in place,” including the presence of police and the board’s system co-ordinator for safe schools, it said.

Lambton OPP was called to Sir John Moore community school on St. Clair Boulevard in the St. Clair Township community after the “vague threat” was discovered, board PR officer Caress Lee said by email Wednesday.

“The investigation. . . was completed (Tuesday) afternoon,” pupils’ families were notified and the school day was not interrupted, she said

Lambton OPP and the board continue “to work closely together to ensure a safe learning environment for all,” the board said.
