Officers tried to stop the vehicle in the Market Street East and St. Andrew Street area as part on an ongoing theft investigation. However, the vehicle fled the area.

However, officers subsequently found the vehicle and the driver at a white Water Driver, Port Dover address. The driver was taken into custody and during a search of the vehicle police found a quantity of suspected cocaine.

While at the address, police found the green and yellow John Deere Z345R zero-turn lawn mower taken from a Nelson Street East address in Port Dover.

Police have charged a 38-year-old Norfolk County man with break and enter, driving while suspended, flight from police, possession of cocaine, six counts of failing to comply with probation orders and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
