Police officers injured after car chase in Arvika

Two police officers have been injured in connection with a car chase in Arvika.
– They carried out a controlled chase that ended in a push, says Lars Hedelin, press spokesperson at the police.

The pursuit began after a motorist refused to stop in connection with an attempted stop in central Arvika.

– It was a profiled car that you recognized and was driven by a person who we already know there is reason to look at, hence the car is checked. But he was not interested in staying, says Lars Hedelin.

The chase only lasted for a few minutes before the police were able to force the car to a stop.

The two officers are not expected to have life-threatening injuries.

– A colleague will be taken to hospital, so will the person in the pursued car. I don’t know what the injury situation looks like, says Lars Hedelin.

The other officer did not need to be taken to hospital and was able to continue working. The driver could be taken into custody and suspected of drunk driving and serious illegal driving.
