Police management mess: Preliminary investigation into gross misconduct

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

A preliminary investigation into gross misconduct in the appointment of Linda Staaf’s employment in Stockholm in 2015 has been initiated, the Public Prosecutor’s Office states.

More shortly.

The preliminary investigation concerns the employment of Linda Staaf, as head of intelligence at the National Operational Department at the Police Agency. The case underwent a preliminary investigation by deputy chief prosecutor Bengt Åsbäck already a year ago, but then no preliminary investigation was initiated as, according to the prosecutor, there was no reason to assume that a crime had been committed.

“We have now received police reports which, together with previous information and media information, mean that I now believe that there is reason to assume that a crime has been committed. I therefore choose to initiate a preliminary investigation,” says Deputy Chief Prosecutor Bengt Åsbäck at the Special Prosecutor’s Chamber in a press release .

It was Mats Löfving, who was then head of Noa, who in 2015 hired Linda Staaf as Noa’s head of intelligence. There is no one who has been notified of suspicion of crime, Åsbäck further states.
