Police: Man charged following single-vehicle collision

Police blotter OPP interrupt break and enter in Courtland

A 27-year-old Norfolk County man faces numerous charges following a single-vehicle collision at a Concession 6, Woodhouse address.

The collision took place at around 1 am March 26. Upon arriving at the scene, police found a vehicle on its roof. The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital by paramedics.

The accused has been charged with driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol, impaired driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his blood, driving with cannabis readily available and driving with liquor readily available.

The man is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a future date.

copper wiring stolen

Norfolk OPP are investigating a theft from an Oakwood Avenue address in Simcoe.

Police were called to the address at about 8:19 am on March 24. Upon arrival, police found a fence had been damaged and an air conditioner unit located inside the fenced compound had been damaged by the forcible removal of copper wiring.

The damage and theft are worth about $5,000, police said.

Driver charged

A 47-year-old Haldimand County resident faces a drinking and driving charge after a vehicle was stopped by Norfolk OPP on March 24.

Police stopped the vehicle as it was traveling on County Line, Townsend at about 10:48 am

The driver was taken into custody without incident and has been charged with driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his blood, and not having a validated permit.

Driver charged

Provincial police have charged a 32-year-old Norfolk County woman with drinking and driving.

The woman was charged just after 11 pm March 24 while police were conducting Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program checks on Norfolk Street South in Simcoe.

The woman is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.
