Police leaked to gang criminals – fired and charged

A police employee at the National Operative Department (Noa) is suspected of having provided a network criminal with classified information.
Now she has been dismissed – and is suspected of several crimes, Siren reports.

During a house search of a female police employee in September last year, several sensitive documents were found.

Among other things, a yellow folder marked “secret”.

Now she is charged and suspected of having leaked sensitive information.

“Relatively comprehensive”

The woman is said to have also made several searches in the police computer system and classified intelligence information on a USB stick – which was then given to a gang criminal man.

The police consider the material to be “relatively extensive”. The authority emphasizes that it is grave and serious that a suspect has access to these documents, according to the preliminary investigation protocol.

According to a witness who was questioned, some of the documents are so classified that they must be signed. The person also says that there is no possibility that the woman could have needed them in her work.

Several criminal suspects

The woman, who is a native of Stockholm, is charged with three counts: Breach of confidentiality, gross data breach and gross arbitrary procedure

The crimes must have been committed during the summer of 2022. The police authority’s personnel responsibility committee has decided that she should be dismissed and that she can no longer be placed in security class.
