Police investigating shooting, robbery in Brantford

One person is in custody and three others are in hospital following a robbery and a shooting that took place in the Colborne Street and Alfred Street area of ​​Brantford.

Brantford Police say officers were dispatched to the scene at about 5:30 pm to investigate a report of a robbery in progress. Upon arrival, police discovered that two people had been shot and third had been assaulted.

All three victims suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital where they were reported to be in stable condition.

One suspect is in custody, police said.

Police are searching for a second suspect and have asked residents to stay away from the immediate area unless absolutely necessary.

The Brantford police K-9 unit is assisting with the search, police said.
