When the police managed to locate the suspects’ car, they refused to stop. A car chase began that ended in the Bergnäset district, where the thieves tried to escape on foot.
The escape attempt failed and the two are now in custody, suspected of serious violence against an official and car theft. The driver is also suspected of aggravated drunken driving.
Both men have previous convictions for crimes.
The guard has been taken to hospital. It is unclear how badly injured he is, but the injuries are in any case not life-threatening.
