The three 15-year-olds had celebrated a birthday at a restaurant and ran towards the bus so as not to get home too late when a car stopped and three plainclothes police jumped out, write Today’s Law.
The police wrestled the boys to the ground, and kneed one of them in the stomach.
“I immediately thought that we would either be robbed or that they would perhaps kidnap us,” says one of the boys in the interrogation, and describes that they did not understand that they were civil police.
One of the boys then had to strip naked in the middle of the street.
“It was unpleasant, because there were a lot of people who passed by and they also laughed at the same time when they saw me completely naked.”
When the police then realized that they had arrested innocent boys, the boys were offered a ride home. The parents then chose to report the incident. One of the police officers is now charged with assault and misconduct. The prosecutor considers the actions of the other police officers to be within the police’s powers.
The accused police officer will be fired from his post if he is convicted of non-minor assault.
