This year’s festivities are canceled due to incidents during previous years’ events, reports say The Västerbottens-Kuriren.
“This year it has been decided that this year’s Christmas activity in the North police region will be used for a Christmas table or other Christmas activity. The word party has been removed from the regional decision,” writes Anna Jonsson, police area manager in Västerbotten, in an email to the newspaper.
“The incidents that have been linked to previous years’ staff events have affected my attitude,” she writes further.
Last year, a policeman was reported for sexually harassing a female colleague during a Christmas party in Lycksele, according to the newspaper. The prosecutor later dropped the preliminary investigation and the suspicions against the man were dismissed.
