According to information from the County Administrative Board, a game accident occurs every eight minutes in Sweden, which results in 62,000 accidents per year. If the accident occurs, you as the driver are obliged to report this to the police.
Failure to report a collision is punishable by a fine.

Police call – after the accident
On Thursday, the police in Östersund shared a call for the authority’s homepagethis in connection with reporting a game accident between a deer and a car.
“A passenger car and a deer are involved in the accident, as reported by the driver. There are no reports of personal injuries. Search hunters are contacted to check how the deer fared,” they write and continue:
“Evenings and mornings are now getting darker. Adjust your driving to conditions such as visibility. Take wildlife warning signs seriously and pay particular attention during dawn and dusk.”
