A 21-year-old man from Huron East has been charged with careless driving and obstructing a peace officer after a minor collision in North Perth, police say.

Perth County provincial police said the incident happened in North Perth on Feb. 15 around 5 pm

After a tractor was removed from the ditch on Line 57, an officer investigating determined the driver of the tractor provided a false name and the man fled, police said.

A second person, an 18-year-old man from North Perth, was also charged after blocking the officer with another piece of heavy machinery, police said.

Both of the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in a Stratford court at a later date to answer the charges.

Argument leads to property damage, charges in North Perth

A 25-year-old Stratford man is facing charges after property was damaged at a home in North Perth on Monday, police say.

Perth County provincial police said officers were called to an address on Davidson Avenue North where two people were having an argument just before 1:30 pm An investigation found one person had damaged property belonging to the other, alleged police.

No injuries were reported.

The Stratford man has been charged with mischief and a breach of recognition. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Stratford court at a later date to answer the charges.

Perth East woman, 56, charged after Listowel theft report

A 56-year-old woman from Perth East is charged with theft with a value less than $5,000 after allegedly being caught shoplifting from a business in Listowel, police say.

Perth County provincial police said the alleged theft from a Mitchell Road South business was reported Friday just before 2 pm

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Stratford court at a later date to answer the charges.
