Police briefs 12 year old charged after brandishing edged weapon in North

A 12-year-old from North Perth has been charged with assault and uttering threats after brandishing an edged weapon at a local park, police say.

Perth County OPP received a weapons complaint from Elizabeth Street East around 6 pm on Sunday, police said.

According to investigators, the victim was at a park when the youth approached them.

The accused is scheduled to appear in a Stratford court at a later date.

West Perth wood carving damaged

Police are investigating after a wood carving in West Perth was damaged this week.

According to Perth County OPP, the investigation began Monday just after 4 pm

The cost of the damages to the wood carving on Ontario Road is estimated to be $5,000.

Stratford driver charged after collision with motorcycle

A 58-year-old Stratford resident has been given a ticket for careless driving after a two-vehicle collision in Perth East sent a person to hospital.

Emergency crews responded to a collision on Perth Road 107 June 25 around 10:20 am, Perth County OPP said.

A vehicle went through an intersection and collided with a motorcycle, according to investigators.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with injuries police described as non–life threatening.
