Brantford Police have charged a 38-year-old Brantford woman with assault and public incitement of hatred.

Officers were dispatched to a Market Street South parking lot on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at about 3 pm

Police say the accused entered into a verbal altercation with the victim, who was allegedly struck in the face while trying to remove herself from the situation.

The accused is alleged to have shouted hate speech and profanities as well.

Man accused of defecating in stairwell

Police have charged a 39-year-old Brantford man with mischief at about 8:45 am Tuesday, Nov. 22.

The man is accused of defecating in a stairwell outside a residence on Queen Street.

Dispute leads to weapons charges

Police responded to a weapons-related call in the vicinity of Market and Dalhousie Streets at about 9:30 am on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

It was reported that an argument between two men escalated as one of the parties brandished a firearm and threatened violence.

Officers located and arrested the accused, who police say was found to be in possession of a pellet gun.

A 37-year-old Brantford man has been charged with possession of weapons for dangerous purpose; assault with a weapon; and failure to comply with a judicial release order.

Toronto man faces drug load

A 36-year-old Toronto man has been charged with break and enter, and possession for the purpose – Schedule 1 – other drugs.

Police received a 911 call from the residents of an Allenby Drive home who said a man had broken a window to gain entry into the house at about 3:15 am on Sunday, Nov. 20.

Officers found the man inside the home and took him into custody.

Police said the suspect was in possession of a quantity of illegal prescription drugs.

The homeowners were not injured.

A 33-year-old Brantford man has been charged with impaired driving.

Officers on patrol Friday, Nov. 20 saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Clarence Street at about 3 am

The vehicle went through a red light at Clarence and Dalhousie Streets and was stopped by police.

Signs of impairment were observed when officers spoke to the driver, and a subsequent roadside breath test produced a failure result.

Breath samples obtained at the police station were over the legal limit, and the accused was found to have violated the terms of his G2 driver’s licence.

The man is charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration; novice driver – BAC above zero; and red light – fail to stop.

The vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and the driver’s license suspended for 30 days.
