Stolen debit card used at local businesses

A debit card from a wallet stolen from a vehicle in Delhi was later used to purchase items at area businesses.

Norfolk OPP say the wallet that contained personal and financial information was stolen from a vehicle on Crosier Street in the early morning hours on April 25.

The victim’s stolen debit card had been used at nearby businesses, said police. Police are reviewing video footage in an attempt to identify those responsible.

Caller charged with impaired driving

A person who called 911 to report an abandoned vehicle ending up being charged with impaired driving.

The incident occurred just after midnight on April 22, Norfolk OPP said in a media release.

The caller used the emergency number to report an abandoned vehicle at 1st NTR concession in the Courtland area.

Officers who arrived on the scene spoke to the person who made the call. A 32-year-old Norfolk man was subsequently taken into custody and charged with operating a vehicle while impaired.

He is slated to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
