Senior charged after being found in ditch

After a 76-year-old man was found lying in a ditch on April 5, Norfolk OPP charged him with impaired operation of a vehicle.

The Norfolk County man was found at about 3:45 pm after police got reports of a pedestrian in the ditch next to a parked vehicle on Lynedoch Road in Delhi.
Police said the man was the driver of the parked vehicle and had no injuries but, after doing a roadside assessment of the man’s sobriety, he was taken into custody.
The 76-year-old was charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of over 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.
He will appear in the Simcoe Court of Justice in May.
Two arrested for drug offenses
Two Norfolk County people are facing drug charges after an investigation by the Haldimand-Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit.

Police said a vehicle stop was made on Monday just before 9 pm and officers arrested the driver of the vehicle for drug-related offenses.
After a search turned up suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, percocets, Canadian cash and drug parapernalia, the passenger was also arrested.
A 42-year-old man has been charged with possession of cocaine for trafficking, possession of an opioid for trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
He was detained in custody for a bail hearing in Simcoe court.
Also charged with possession of cocaine for trafficking was a 35-year-old woman. She’ll appear in Simcoe court in May.
Man on probation charged with harassment
A man who was on a conditional sentence order is facing charges of breaking those orders after Norfolk OPP investigated a harassment incident.

Police went to a Donly Drive North address in Simcoe on April 5 and found two people had been in an argument that escalated to “repeated contact” from one man.
A 24-year-old Norfolk man was arrested and charged with criminal harassment-threatening conduct; two counts of failing to comply with a probation order and breaching a conditional sentence order.
The man was detained in custody until he appeared at a bailing hearing in Simcoe’s Ontario Court of Justice.
Police seek to suspect ID
Norfolk OPP have released a photo of a shoplifting suspect in hopes the public can identify the man.
Police said on April 5 at about 3:30 pm, a man went into a Port Dover business on Main Street and concealed food products, leaving without paying.

The man is described as Caucasian with a heavy build and short, dark hair. He was wearing a black hoodie with dark shorts and brown sandals.

Dover man charged after single-vehicle crash
A Port Dover man was charged after Haldimand OPP investigated a single-vehicle crash on Concession 4, Walpole, on Saturday.
Police received a report of the collision at about 7 pm and found a vehicle had left the road with the driver getting minor injuries.
The 31-year-old man was charged with driving while impaired and driving with his blood-alcohol concentration was over 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.
He will appear in Cayuga’s Ontario Court of Justice in May.
