A 29-year-old Norfolk County woman has been charged with robbery following an Oct. 13 incident in Simcoe.

Norfolk OPP officers were dispatched to a Union Street address just after 2 pm to investigate a disturbance. Upon arrival, police discovered two individuals had become involved in a verbal dispute which escalated into a physical altercation.

The suspect allegedly assaulted and stole the victim’s keys. No injuries were reported, police said.

Officers then located the suspect and arrested him without incident. She is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Nov. 28.

truck theft

Norfolk OPP is investigating the theft of a white pick-up truck from a Yuell Road, Simcoe address.

Officers were sent to the address at about 8:20 am Oct. 16 and learned a white 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup truck with a picture of a moose affixed to the rear window had been stolen. A green toolbox was located in the bed of the vehicle at the time, police said.

The theft occurred sometime overnight on Oct. 15 to 16, police said.

Mischief in Delhi

A 45-year-old Norfolk County woman has been charged with mischief under $5,000 following an Oct. 14 incident on James Street, Delhi.

Norfolk OPP officers were sent to the location at 6 pm to investigate a report of someone spray painting the roadway. Police found a suspect and took her into custody without incident. She is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Nov. 7.

Break and enter

A PlayStation 5 video game console was stolen from a Pine Street, Delhi residence during a recent break-in, Norfolk OPP say.

The break-in took place sometime overnight on Oct. 15-16

Utility vehicle stolen

Norfolk OPP is investigating the theft of a utility vehicle from an East Quarter Line Road address.

The theft is believed to have occurred sometime overnight on Oct. 13 to 14.

The vehicle, described as an orange and black 2021 Kubota RTV-X1100C side-by-side, was parked on the property, police said.

Thefts from construction sites

Norfolk OPP is asking residents to immediately report suspicious activity following recent thefts from construction sites.

Police say lighting and door hardware worth $2,500 was stolen from a residence under construction on McIntosh Drive in Delhi sometime during the early morning hours of Oct. 16.

Officers then learned that about $2,000 worth of lighting and door hardware had also been stolen from a home being built on Argyle Street.

Stunt driving charge

A 24-year-old Norfolk County woman has been charged with several driving-related offenses following an Oct. 17 traffic stop on St. John’s Road West.

Norfolk OPP say officers stopped a vehicle at about 9:45 am after it was seen traveling more than 120 km/h in a post 60 km/h zone.

The driver has been charging stunt driving – excessive speed, driving more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit and driving without a current validated permit.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Nov. 24.
