On Thursday, January 25, 2024, Haldimand OPP began an investigation into a theft at an Argyle Street business in Caledonia.

Police say a customer shopping in the store was distracted by a male who asked questions about a product. During that conversation another male suspect took a purse from the customer’s shopping cart.

Both male suspects walked out of the store and fled the scene in a white van.

Video surveillance is being reviewed by police in an attempt to identify the suspects.

Driver charged following crash

A 19-year-old Norfolk County male has been charged following a single vehicle collision.

Norfolk OPP responded to a single-vehicle rollover just before 1:30 am on Sunday, January 28, on Highway 59 in Walsingham.

Minor injuries were reported, and officers took the driver into custody after evaluating his level of sobriety.

The accused has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus0, and dangerous operation.
