Police blotter OPP interrupt break and enter in Courtland

Norfolk OPP interrupted a break and enter in progress on March 26.

Police received a call about a break-in taking place at a Thunderbird Drive residence in Courtland at about 7:04 pm Norfolk OPP, the OPP canine unit and the emergency response team responded to the call.

One person was located and taken into custody without incident while a second person fled the area and is still at large, police said.

Police have charged a 50-year-old Norfolk County man with break and enter. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.

The incident is still under investigation and police anticipate a further arrest.

The Norfolk County OPP is continuing to investigate this incident and anticipate a further arrest.

Prohibited driver facing charges

A 42-year-old Tillsonburg man has been charged with driving while prohibited.

A driver was stopped by Norfolk OPP at a Highway 59, Langton address on March 26 at about 4:54 pm

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a future date.

Impaired driving charges ugly

A 34-year-old Norfolk County man faces numerous charges after being stopped by Norfolk OPP on March 26.

Police stopped a vehicle at about 11:22 pm Sunday on Colborne Street West in Simcoe and took the driver into custody without incident.

The driver has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs or alcohol, operating a vehicle without insurance, possessing more than one license and driving with an open bottle of liquor.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
