Police blotter: Norfolk man accused of being involved in two collisions

A 40-year-old Norfolk County man faces several charges following an impaired driving incident.

Norfolk OPP were called to a single-vehicle collision at about 6:28 pm on Thursday, October 12, on Teeterville Road where a pickup truck went off the road and struck a hydro pole.

The driver fled on foot but was apprehended a short time later.

Officers determined that the truck matched the description of a vehicle that had fled the scene of a two-vehicle crash a short time earlier at a Teeter Street address.

No injuries were reported in the earlier collision, but the suspect suffered minor injuries in the collision with the pole.

The accused has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), and two counts each of failure to stop after accident, and dangerous operation.

Teen facing stunt driving loads

A 16-year-old Norfolk County male is facing stunt driving charges.

A Norfolk OPP officer observed a vehicle traveling at more than 100 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone at about 2:42 pm Thursday, Oct. 19, on St. John’s Road East near Port Dover.

The accused is charged with driving motor vehicle – performing stunt, and speeding 1-49 km/h over posted speed limit.
