Fireworks shot at people, buildings

Police are investigating after reports of fireworks being shot towards pedestrians by people in a vehicle traveling on Union Street in Simcoe on Sunday night.

A female driver and passengers in a silver Pontiac vehicle were shooting the fireworks towards pedestrians and buildings at just before 11 pm, Norfolk OPP said in a media release.

No injuries were reported.

Police are reviewing security surveillance footage in an attempt to identify the people in the vehicle.

firewood stolen

A quantity of firewood was stolen from a Long Point property on Sunday.

Police were contacted after a person removed the firewood from an Erie Street property.

Norfolk OPP say an occupant of a gray colored Honda exited the vehicle and removed the firewood.

woman faces impaired load

A 19-year-old woman is facing an impaired driving charge after a member of the public contacted police to report a traffic complaint.

Norfolk OPP responded to Cedar Drive in Turkey Point at about 2 am on Monday.

Police later located the vehicle on Highway 24 and the driver was taken into custody.

A Norfolk woman has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80) plus. She is scheduled to appear in court in Simcoe at a later date.

E-bike stolen in Simcoe

An electric bicycle was stolen from a Simcoe property on Monday afternoon.

The theft occurred on Colborne Street North at around 3 pm

The bicycle is described as silver colored with red tape around the battery.
