Norfolk OPP have charged two people following a Wednesday morning incident at a Concession 13, Townsend address.
Police responded to a 911 emergency call from a citizen who saw a suspicious person at the address just before 1 am Jan. 18.
Upon arrival, police found two people at the rear of an address on Highway 24 North. The suspects fled on foot but were soon taken into custody by police.
A 52-year-old Brant County man has been charged with trespassing at night, possession of break-in instruments, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and possession of methamphetamine.
A 39-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with trespassing at night, possession of break-in instruments, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and failing to comply with a release order.
Norfolk OPP detachment Commander Insp. Jodi Kays thanked the citizen for calling 911.
“As a direct officers located both individuals and took them into custody without incident,” Kays said.
Pickup truck stolen
Norfolk OPP are investigating the theft of a pickup truck from a Concession 10, Townsend address.
The vehicle is a black 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck with a leveling kit, black rims, black hard tonneau cover and an orange “EveryChildMatters” decal on the rear window.
Police have also released a photo of the stolen vehicle.
Police say the vehicle was stolen sometime between Jan. 13 and 18.

Mischief at Lions Park
Norfolk OPP are investigating an act of mischief at Simcoe Lions Park.
Police were sent to the park on Davis Street East at about 8:10 am Tuesday (Jan. 17). Upon arrival, officers discovered four doors leading to a storage area under the outdoor bleachers had been damaged.
