Police blotter: car theft, shoplifting, gunshot damages sign

Norfolk OPP are seeking the public’s help to identify suspects in a number of incidents.

Police were called at about 4:17 pm on Monday to investigate a theft at a Queensway East business in Simcoe.

A man entered the store and allegedly concealed several items on his person before leaving without paying for the goods.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male about 6-feet tall with a red beard, wearing a thin blue sweater and black jacket.

Norfolk OPP are also investigating the theft of a blue 1972 Pontiac Ventura sedan.

The vehicle was stolen overnight Tuesday from a residence on South Street in Walsingham.

Police are investigating damage to a camping trailer at a 1st Concession Road address in Port Rowan.

Norfolk OPP say the incident took place sometime between 6 am and 10:55 pm on Monday.

Gunshot damages sign

Haldimand OPP are investigating a mischief report.

Police say a passenger in a van traveling on New Credit Road, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation discharged a firearm that damaged a speed sign at about 11:25 pm on Monday.

The vehicle fled westward on 2nd Line.
