Police blotter: Break and enter thwarted by Brant OPP

A 43-year-old Brantford man has been charged following a break and enter at a construction site.

Brant OPP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at just before 4 am Sunday, October 15 at a residential construction site on Colborne Street West.

A security company monitoring the site was able to direct officers to the location of the suspect who was taken into custody.

The accused is charged with break, enter a place – with intent to commit unspeakable offense; possession break in instruments; and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Impaired driving charges

A 57-year-old Norfolk County resident is facing impaired driving charges.

Brant OPP received a call at about 3:24 pm on Oct. 14 from a caller who was concerned about the way a vehicle was being driven on Oakland Road.

The vehicle was located, and the driver taken into custody.

The accused is charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), dangerous operation, and driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor.
