Arson investigation underway after vehicle set on fire in Scotland

Brant OPP are turning to the public to help identify a suspect after a vehicle was set on fire in the village of Scotland on the weekend.

Police say someone attended a property on Oakland Drive in the early hours on Saturday, Feb. 24 and intentionally set fire to a vehicle parked in the driveway.
Police responded at about 1:37 am
“Witnesses were able to provide a description of the person of interest stating that they were wearing dark pants, and a light-colored hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up,” police said.

Man facing theft charges in taxi fare incident
A Brantford man is facing theft charges after Brant OPP investigated a reported taxi fare theft.
The incident occurred Saturday morning. Police identified a man who said he was not able to pay the taxi fare. The man was given a chance to secure the funds but was unable to do so, said police.
A 57-year-old Brantford man was subsequently charged with theft under $5,000.
