A 38-year-old Norfolk County man faces charges following a Nov. 5 disturbance involving an edged weapon.

Norfolk County OPP officers were sent to a Windham Road 7, Windham address at about 9:21 am Sunday to investigate. Upon arrival, police learned that an edged weapon was pulled out during a heated verbal argument between two people.
No injuries were reported and one person was taken into custody without incident, police say.
Police have charged the suspect with two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Impaired driving
Norfolk OPP charged two people with impaired driving in separate incidents on Sunday (Nov. 5).

Officers stopped a vehicle near a Brantford Road, Windham address shortly after 1 am. The driver was taken into custody with incident.
A 26-year-old Haldimand County woman has been charged with impaired driving. She is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, December 12.
Norfolk OPP also charged a 53-year-old Norfolk County man with impaired driving and driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.
Officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle that had gone into the ditch off Cockshutt Road, Townsend at about 2:32 am Sunday. The driver was taken into custody with out incident and is scheduled to appear in court in Simcoe on Dec. 12.
Disturbance
An 18-year-old Norfolk County man has been charged following a Saturday (Nov. 4) fight at a Robinson Street address in Simcoe.

Norfolk OPP say an officer, responding to a call, came upon two individuals involved in a physical altercation. The officer broke up the fight and took one person into custody.
The accused has been charged with causing a disturbance and is scheduled to appear in court in Simcoe on Dec. 19.
Intimate partner violence
A 36-year-old Norfolk County man has been charged following an intimate partner violence investigation.
The man has been charged with failing to comply with a release order after police were sent to a Norfolk County address at 9:30 pm Nov. 3. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Break and enter
Norfolk OPP are investigating the theft of an all-terrain vehicle stolen during a recent break and enter.
Police were dispatched to a Woodley Road address just before 9 am on Nov. 3. Upon arrival, officers learned a barn on the property had been forcibly entered and an ATV stolen.
The ATV is a blue 2004 Polaris Sportsman 700.
Police say the theft took place overnight from Nov. 2 to Nov. 3.

Golf cart thefts
Norfolk OPP are investigating the theft of a golf cart from a Clubhouse Road, Turkey Point address.
The theft was reported to police on Nov. 2 just after 2:30 pm Police determined that the golf cart was taken sometime between 5 pm Oct. 31 and 1:45 pm Nov. 2.
The golf cart is a blue 2003 EZG with a blue steering wheel, tan-colored rear seats, a lowered body and SS rims. A “73” sticker is affixed to the body on the driver’s side.
Norfolk OPP were also called to investigate a theft of a golf cart from a Windham East Quarter Townline Road, Windham address on Nov. 4.
Officers were notified of the theft at 8:58 am and upon further investigation learned the golf cart was taken sometime overnight on Nov. 3 to Nov. 4.

The cart is a black 2015 Club Car. A trailer hitch was attached to the cart at the time of the theft, police say.
Truck stolen
A pick-up truck was stolen from a Green Street, Waterford address, Norfolk OPP say.
The theft is believed to have taken place sometime between 3 pm Nov. and 2:49 pm on Nov. 4. The vehicle was parked on the street at the time of the theft, police say.
The stolen vehicle is a white 2006 Chevrolet Silverado.
