Woman faces assault charges

A 52-year-old Norfolk County woman has been charged following a disturbance at the Talbot Gardens property in Simcoe.
Norfolk OPP responded at 11:59 pm on Saturday, June 1 and determined that three individuals had been engaged in a dispute.
Two of the parties were physically assaulted, and one of the victim’s belongings were damaged, police said. No injuries were reported from the incident.
Police confirmed the Talbot Gardens property as the site of the incident, when asked if it occurred at the property and specifically a homeless encampment at the location.
The accused was arrested and has been charged with two counts of assault, and mischief – destroys or damages property, and will appear in court July 2.

Man charged after break and enter
A 44-year-old Norfolk County man has been charged as the result of a break-and-enter investigation.
Norfolk OPP were called to a Queensway East address in Simcoe just before 11 am on Friday, May 31.
Police say someone entered a garage and tried to steal a bicycle.
The suspect fled on foot after being confronted by the homeowner.
Officers located an individual matching the suspect’s description on Donly Drive and placed him under arrest.
Police say the accused was found to have stolen mail in his possession, and has been charged with break, enter a place – commit unspeakable offense; obstruct peace officer; personation with intent – intent to gain advantage (identity fraud); and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Help needed to ID suspects
Police are asking for the public’s help to identify two break-and-enter suspects.
Norfolk OPP investigated a break-and-enter at a Norfolk Street South address in Simcoe at 1:43 am on Monday, June 3.
Officers determined that two suspects forcibly entered a business but fled a short time after. They were last seen heading northbound on Norfolk Street South.
No items were reported stolen.
Both suspects are described as males between the ages of 13 to 14 and wearing black ski masks. One was wearing a white sweater, while the other a dark sweater at the time of the incident.

Odd charges
Three people face impaired driving charges in separate incidents investigated by Norfolk OPP.
On Friday, May 31 police received a call about a possible impaired driver on Hamilton Plank Road in Port Dover.
No injuries were reported after the vehicle left the roadway and came to a stop on the front lawn of a residence.
A 36-year-old Brant County woman has been charged with operation while impaired – blood drug concentration; operation while prohibited; take motor vehicle without consent; obstruct peace officer; and operate vehicle for which permit suspended.

At 7:21 am on Saturday, June 1 police investigated a report of a possible impaired driver on Cockshutt Road Townsend.
The driver suffered minor injuries after hitting several mailboxes before stopping in the parking lot of a business.
A 38-year-old Norfolk County man has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs; dangerous operation; obstruct peace officer; fail to have insurance card; and drive motor vehicle – no license.
At 11:18 pm on Sunday, June 2 Norfolk OPP operating a RIDE program spot check on Hamilton Plank Road in Port Dover stopped and assessed the sobriety of a driver.
The 19-year-old Norfolk County driver was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs; driver – fail to properly wear seat belt; novice driver – presence of drugs; young driver – presence of drugs; drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available; and drive motor vehicle with liquor readily available.
