Police blotter: $7,000 worth of fuel stolen, assault charges, thefts, impaired

Norfolk OPP is investigating the theft of about $7,000 worth of fuel from a Concession 7 Townsend address.

Police say the theft took place some time between 3 pm Nov. 24 and 6 pm Nov. 28 when an individual or individuals took the fuel from tanks on the property.

Woman faces assault with weapon charge

A 30-year-old Norfolk County woman has been charged with assault with a weapon following a disturbance at a Norfolk County address.

Norfolk OPP officers were sent to a Norfolk address at about 2:23 pm Nov. 29. Police arrested one individual without incident.

Police have also charged the woman with assault.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 19.

Stolen truck destroyed

A pick-up truck stolen from a Fanshawe Drive in Port Dover address was later found damaged beyond repair in Caledonia, Norfolk OPP say.

The black 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche was stolen sometime between 5 pm Nov. 25 and 6 am Nov. 27. It was found by Haldimand OPP just after 6 pm on Nov. 27 on Haddington Street, Caledonia.

Two people accused of shoplifting

Norfolk OPP have charged two people after investigating a report of shoplifting at a Queensway East business in Simcoe.

Police were dispatched to the scene just before 6 pm on Nov. 27.

Upon arrival, police determined that two individuals entered a business and concealed merchandise before leaving the store without paying for the items.

Officers subsequently found two suspects and charged a 26-year-old Norfolk County resident with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on December 19.

A 27-year-old Norfolk County resident has been charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting and failing to comply with a probation order. The suspect was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Impaired driving charge

A 43-year-old Norfolk County woman has been charged with driving with more than the legal amount of alcohol in her blood following a single-vehicle collision.

Norfolk OPP officers were sent to a McDowell Road address in Charlotteville just before 10 pm Nov. 28. to investigate a single-vehicle collision. One person was taken into custody without incident.

The accused, who is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 2, has also been charged with dangerous driving.
