A police officer was beaten on New Year’s Eve after intervening in a fight in Varberg.
The police were alerted to a fight between two people at 00:26 and when the patrol came to the scene and tried to control the fight, one of them allegedly targeted the policeman and kicked and punched, Aftonbladet reports.
The suspected perpetrator, who is 18 years old, was arrested and suspected of violence against an official. The officer was taken to hospital for examination but is said to have suffered no serious injuries.
