Passengers and crew have been questioned in an attempt to map the accident.

A seven-year-old fell into the water and the child’s mother jumped in. The ferry was on its way to Poland from Karlskrona when the incident occurred.
Both people were found after an extensive rescue effort. At 6 p.m., the Maritime and Air Rescue Center (JRCC) stated that both had been winched out of the water by helicopters and taken to hospital.
According to the JRCC, the people were not contactable when they were found. Their state of health is still unclear as of Friday morning.
