Police action in Örebro after alarm about serious violent crime in Brickebacken

At half past seven on Thursday evening, the police received a call that a loud bang had been heard in the Örebro district of Brickebacken.

Residents in the area that SVT Nyheter spoke to tell how they heard several loud bangs.

– We have lived here for seven years and never hear anything so loud, says a witness who wishes to remain anonymous.

At the scene, the police found an injured person.

According to information to SR P4 Örebro it concerns a person who is known to the police, and who has been shot.

– We have cordoned off the suspected crime scene and the injured person has been taken care of by the medical services, says police spokesperson Anders Dahlman.

The police are not currently stating what type of injuries the person received or whether it is a serious injury.

The police are now continuing the search for traces and the perpetrator at the scene, including with dog patrol. No one has been arrested.

– We are looking for a perpetrator or several perpetrators, and this operation is going on a little everywhere now, said Anders Dahlman of the Bergslagen police region, just after 8 pm in the evening.

Furthermore, the police appeal on their website to residents in the area to contact the police if they have made “observations of a criminal act.”
