There is a police operation in Vällingby in Stockholm.
Police and emergency services have been called to the scene.
– We are there and assist the police, some type of detonation, Roger Sverndal, line operator at the Rescue Service.
According to the police, the incident must have happened in a stairwell. Residents of the house must have been temporarily evacuated.
– Something has hit a stairwell, we don’t know what it is. We suspect it is some form of minor charge, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at the police.
The incident has occurred in a multi-family building, the police have set up cordons in the area.
– We are looking for contact with those who live in the house. Searching for traces or if there are other objects that could cause damage, but we have not found any, says Daniel Wikdahl.
No one is said to have been injured, but there has been material damage to the stairwell. The incident is being investigated as public destruction and a violation of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.
