Polestar and Meizuannounced a new joint venture aimed at strengthening Polestar’s market position in China; in-car infotainment system. There is still no name for the joint venture company, but Polestar will own 49% of the stake, while Meizu will own the other 51% and will also be responsible for securing future financing beyond Polestar and Meizu’s initial capital.
Since Polestar has to offer software tailor-made for the local consumer, the partnership means Meizu for cars Flyme Auto software will focus around. The two companies will work closely together to improve the software and offer deep integration with mobile devices. We’re talking apps, entertainment, streaming services, and infotainment.
polestar, Meizu with Flyme Auto and also augmented realitywill send approximately 130 employees to the new joint venture in China to work on mobile devices and other ecosystem-related products.
Polestar says it still relies on its partnership with Google and for its vehicles sold outside of China. Will continue to use Android Auto immediately stated.
