Poland plans to send ex Soviet warplanes to Ukraine

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stated that they are ready to send planes to Ukraine, which is at war with Russia.

Morawiecki reported that his government could deliver Soviet-made MiG-29s to Ukraine “in the next four to six weeks”.

Ukrainian leaders are calling for other NATO members to send planes to Kiev as well.

It is known that the Ukrainian air force is familiar with the MiG-29s. Poland, which has been using these warplanes since 1989, still has 28 MiG-29s.

Poland is gradually replacing its MiG-29 fleet with US-made F-16s and South Korean-made FA-50 multipurpose jets, and is also purchasing US-made F-35 fighter jets.

In its second year of war with Russia, Ukraine is requesting warplanes from Western countries to strengthen its air defense. (AA)
