Poland: PiS resists

Poland PiS resists

In Poland, the return to democracy is not happening without hiccups. The PiS, the Law and Justice party, ultraconservative and nationalist, now in opposition, is trying to put obstacles in the way of the new Prime Minister. For example on media reform: during his campaign, Donald Tusk made the independence of public media his priority. Under the rule of the PIS, public television had become a simple propaganda relay. From the first days of its mandate in December, the new government dismissed the audiovisual leaders. But the new opposition is mobilizing its supporters.
