The European Commission confirms that no EU funding will be granted to territories which declare themselves “LGBT-free zones” in violation of European texts which prohibit discrimination. The phenomenon, which first appeared in 2019, affected up to five major regions of the country. In the face of protests from the EU, four of them backed down.
