The new Pokémon TCG Pocket update is finally there. On the program, a new extension, unpublished cards, but above all the addition of the “exchange” function, much awaited by the players. See how it works.
This January 29, 2025 marks a turning point for the application Pokémon TCG Pocket. With nearly 10 million downloads in three months, the game immediately appealed to fans, who threw themselves on their digital boosters to get the largest collection possible.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Do not fail to add new content through updates. That of January 29, opens in particular the possibility of exchanging its cards with other players. An expected feature since the launch of the game by the community, but which is supervised by many rules. So, how to exchange your cards with other virtual pokémon trainers?
Many rules imposed
As with the miracle drawn with the “miracle vitality” or the opening of boosters with the “Booster hourglass”, the “exchange” function requires a certain resource to be executed. This resource, soberly called “Vitality exchange”, is recharged every 24 hours. It is possible to accumulate up to 5, knowing that each exchange costs a miracle vitality, regardless of the scarcity of cards exchanged.
However, high rarity cards can only be exchanged if you have “exchanges”, which can be obtained via “get objects” in the “collection” menu.
Many limits, however, supervise the “exchange” function, which can sometimes demoralize players. First of all, in order to avoid asymmetrical exchanges between two players, Pokémon TCG Pocket has established a simple rule: it is impossible to exchange two different rarity cards. Their values must absolutely be equivalent. Secondly, players will not be able to send their cards to everyone, since the new feature is only reserved for friends, which strongly restricts the possibilities.
How to exchange your cards?
In order to exchange your cards with friends, you will have to go to the middle tab of Pokémon TCG Pocket, namely “community”. You will find the “Exchange” button to the right of the screen, then “exchange”. You will now need to select the friend of your choice, as well as the card you want to send. Depending on the value of the selected card, you can see what resources will be deducted from your profile.
The friend you have selected will have a maximum of two days before appointing, in turn, a card to send you. Beyond the time allocated, the exchange will be canceled and the card you had designated will come back.
When will it be possible to exchange your cards?
While the new extension “Spatio-Temporal Shock” arrives that on January 30, the “exchange” functionality has been available since January 29, at 7 am. If the update automatically applies to certain smartphones, others will be forced to go to the App Store or the Play Store to launch it manually. It is therefore already possible to exchange your cards with other players.
