A PvP event that drove many players to despair returns in Pokémon TCG Pocket. This time they don’t want to be stressed and just want to get the free items.
What kind of event is this? As with Unbeatable Genes, Mysterious Island now has a PvP event in which players must achieve multiple wins in a row against other trainers. This means that players cannot lose, otherwise the counter will be reset to 0.
To get the highest gold emblem as a reward, collectors must achieve 5 wins in a row. This is difficult for many players because there is always a deck combination against which your deck is doing poorly. That’s why many people gave up before they even started the first match.
But some fans still see something positive about the event. They don’t even try to win, but they are after a specific item.
With Celebi-ex you could win many matches in PvP mode:
Players surrender at event, only collect free items
Why does it still make sense to take part in the event? In the Reddit forum, some fans write that they are only taking part in the event to dust off the packing hourglasses. These are items that shorten the waiting time until the next pack is opened.
Pack Hourglasses are available as a reward for participating in PvP battles during the event period. This way players can at least collect some Pack Hourglasses even if they never win. Some users hope that they could at least help others get the emblems.
The user DefinitelyNotAShark is trying to make at least a mini-game out of it for his amusement. He has a deck with only Plaudagei, which draws a card from his own deck for every card in his opponent’s hand. He tries to empty his deck before the opponent can defeat him.
What is the best way to approach the event? If you don’t want to stress yourself out with the event, it’s enough to play the 10 matches to get all the free hourglasses. But it can also help not to drive yourself crazy in the first few days of the event.
The PvP event runs until January 27, 2025. Towards the end of the event, many players may have already received their emblem and therefore withdraw from the mode. This might make it easier to get one of the emblems.
