Will we soon be catching giant Pokémon in Pokémon GO? A leak now looks like it.
What kind of leak is this? On the Discord server of the leaker group Pokeminers and in the Pokémon GO subreddit “TheSilphRoad,” players are currently talking about an exciting discovery. New content related to the topic of “Dynamax” is being shown there.
You can see the post from the subreddit here:
What can be seen there? These are apparently assets for a new form of raids that will implement the Dynamax system from the main games “Pokémon Sword & Shield”. There are new graphics to be seen, as well as a new raid arena.
There have already been data minings around Dynamax, as reported by “Pokémon GO Hub”, and a Dynamax Pokémon can also be seen in the official graphic for the game’s eighth anniversary, which Pokémon GO shared via X.com.
This is what you have to consider: These graphics have previously hinted at features or content that only appeared much later or not at all in the game. Nevertheless, in conjunction with the new data mining, there is growing hope that Dynamax will soon be in the game. But what is it actually?
What could Dynamax and Gigantamax mean for Pokémon GO?
This is Dynamax: This phenomenon was introduced in Pokémon Sword and Shield, transforming Pokémon into giant versions of themselves. These monsters could be fought in Max Raid Battles, but could also be used in battle. You can read more about the feature in Sword and Shield here.
The giant versions could then fight for three rounds while dynamaxed before transforming back. They were significantly strengthened in the process.
What is Gigantamax? This is another variation of Dynamax: Some Pokémon had the special Gigantamaxing ability, which not only made them huge, but also took on a special form. They then also had a special Gigantamax attack that you could use to attack.
Also exciting: The incredibly powerful Pokémon Endynalos is partly responsible for the phenomenon. It is one of a number of powerful Pokémon that are still missing in GO.
What would this mean for Pokémon GO? We can only speculate at the moment, as it is still completely unclear how exactly the feature will be implemented. But one thing is clear: If monsters could be dynamaxed in the future, it would shake up the established lists of the best attackers or PvP monsters – depending on which monsters can dynamax and what changes there are in combat.
There is also a new component for collectors, as the Gigantamax forms are likely to become sought-after monsters in the game. We are definitely excited and will keep you updated here as soon as there is more news about the feature.
Keep in mind, however: As of now, there is no official announcement or anything similar. What do you think of Dynamax and a possible variant in Pokémon GO? Tell us in the comments!
