In Pokémon GO there was special research for the Sinnoh tour at the weekend. If you haven’t done this yet, it could be difficult at first.

What kind of event was that? The Grand Sinnoh Tour that took place in Pokémon GO over the weekend was a big event with a local and a global part. The global part focused, among other things, on the debut of the original forms of Palkia and Dialga.

In keeping with the debut, a special research called GO Tour 2024: Comes Time, Comes Space has also been activated, which you can do. If you were unable to complete these completely in the event, it may now take a while before you can complete them.

Necessary Pokémon can no longer be caught

What is the problem? Depending on which path you chose for research, in the second step you have to catch either a Primal Dialga or a Primal Palkia. However, these two Pokémon have no longer been present in raids since the event ended and are therefore currently no longer catchable.

In addition, in the third step you have to activate the Pokémon’s respective adventure effect once. If you haven’t caught them, you can’t activate the adventure effect.

What can I do now to solve the research? If you are already in step 3, you can still get the adventure effect with the help of a friend. If this is the case, you can still successfully complete the research.

However, if you are still in the second step, you either have to be patient or hope for Niantic. In the past, such special research was subsequently adjusted by Niantic and the corresponding task was changed so that the research could be completed even without catching the corresponding Pokémon in the event.

However, during another special research, where you were supposed to take snapshots of the legendary Pokémon Demeteros, Boreos and Voltolos, you had to accept a long waiting time. It wasn’t until many months after Special Research came into play that the three Pokémon were available again in raids and the research was doable if you had previously missed it.

Niantic may also bring back the original forms of the Pokémon at the GO Fest in the summer, so that the task can be solved here at the latest.

What does the community say about this? There are some trainers on Reddit who were unable to complete the special research and are drawing parallels to the snapshot research.
