Pokémon GO: Strong Pokémon for GO Battle Day

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Today is the day of battle in Pokémon GO. You need a good team? Here are some suggestions of monsters that have proven themselves in PvP.

What is this event? In Pokémon GO, “GO Battle Day” will be held on January 14th and 15th, 2023. It starts on January 14th. at 00:00 and ends on 15.01. at 11:59 p.m.

You can complete up to 100 matches on both Saturday and Sunday to secure rewards such as quadruple Stardust and other bonuses through special research.

You can find detailed information about the battle day and the rewards here.

Three leagues are available on battle day:

  • The Super League (monsters up to 1,500 WP)
  • The Hyper League (monsters up to 2,500 WP)
  • The Master League (Unlimited CP)
  • Want to check out Battle League but don’t know which monsters to use? Then we’ll show you some powerful options to build your team for Battle League.

Because in PvP, the best raid attackers are not necessarily the strongest options, but completely different monsters.

What is this list? The PvPoke portal has created a ranking of the best monsters in various combat leagues through simulations. These rankings provide a good basis for your own teams. See which of the monsters you have – and use them to build your Battle League teams.

What should you consider? The lists show monsters that are doing well in the current Battle League meta and have strong chances of winning the PvP league. But: Any monster can be countered if used against the wrong type. The right movesets can also be crucial.

In addition, the rankings are based on strong variants of the monsters, with WP as close as possible to the league limit. You should also note that. A Galarian Flunschlik, for example, is quite durable, but is a quick victim when it has 500 HP less than the opponent.

Here we show you the top 10 attacks and list a few alternatives.

Super League: 10 strong monsters for battles up to 1,500 WP

  • Registeel: Target Shot + Focus Blast, Lightning Cannon (Event Attack)
  • Galar Flunschlik: Clay Shot + Rock Storm, Earthquake
  • Meditalis: Counter + Ice Slam, Psychic
  • Sumpex (Crypto): Clay Shot + Aqua Howitzer (Event Attack), Earthquake
  • Irokex: Counter + Freeloader, Acceleration Strike
  • Bollterus: Catapult + Stone Edge, Flamethrower
  • Trombork: Dark Claw + Seed Bombs, Spook Ball
  • Pelipper: Flap + Meteorologist (Water), Hurricane
  • Noctuh: Wing Flap + Sky Sweep, Haunted Ball
  • Altaria: Order of Fire + Sky Sweep, Moon Force (Event Attack)
  • Strong alternatives for the Superliga: In addition to the top 10, monsters such as Azumarill, Tropius, Panzaeron and Zobiris have also established themselves in the super league. You can bring some variance into the types again.

For example, a team of Meditalis, Azumarill, and Bollterus can take a beating while also dealing high damage against some of the most popular monsters.

Hyper League: 10 strong monsters for battles up to 2,500 WP

  • Registeel: Target Shot + Focus Blast, Lightning Cannon (Event Attack)
  • Deaf Boss: Wing Flap (Event Attack) + Down Dance, Dive
  • Cobalion: Double Kick + Sancto Blade (Event Attack), Stone Edge
  • Giratina (morph): Dark Claw + Haunted Ball, Shadow Strike
  • Skorgro (Crypto): Wing Slap + Night Slash, Earthquake

  • Sumpex: Clay Shot + Aqua Howitzer (Event Attack), Earthquake
  • Cresselia: Psycho Blade + Strauchler, Lunar Violence
  • Steelix: Dragon Rod + Psycho Biter, Crunch
  • Strong alternatives for the Hyperliga: There are also many possible combinations here. A team of Tauboss, Registeel, and Sumpex can damage most popular monsters in the league.

But there are also exciting alternatives in the Hyperliga, also to the top 10. The ultra beast Schlingking, for example, has a place here, Walraisa with its Ice Spear attack, Charizard, Panzaeron or the Armor Mewtwo are also popular with some players.

By the way: Recently, some trainers were out and about in the battle league and got a lot more victories than they played.

Master League: 10 powerful monsters for battles with no CP limit

  • Dragoran (Crypto): Fire Breath + Dragon Claw, Powerhulk
  • Lugia (Crypto): Dragon Rod + Sky Sweep, Air Blast (Event Attack)
  • Giratina (morph form): Dark Claw + Dragon Claw, Ancient Power
  • Kyurem: Breath of Fire + Ice Age (Event Attack), Dragon Claw
  • Zacian: Quick Attack + Melee, Snuggle
  • Mewtwo (Crypto): Psycho Blade + Psycho Strike, Spook Ball
  • Groudon: Clay Shot + Earthquake, Fire Blast
  • Giratina (Primal Form): Dark Claw + Spook Ball, Baleful Gusts
  • Yveltal: Teachdown + Dark Aura, Focus Blast
  • Zekrom: Fire Breath + Crunch, Electric Surge
  • Note: In the Master League, monsters that were previously very difficult to obtain are also strong, let alone their candies. These include Solgaleo or Meloetta. We have removed these from the overview for now, but these monsters are also a strong option if you have collected enough candies for them.

Strong alternatives: The master league is dominated by legendary monsters, including dragon types. Strong alternatives can be monsters like Gyarados, Florges, Mamutel, Garchomp or Sumpex.
