Pokémon GO starts the Light Festival tomorrow with new Pokémon & Shiny – This is what awaits you

The Light Festival in Pokémon GO is coming up. We’ll show you all the content, bonuses and new monsters you can get.

When is the light festival running? The light festival starts on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. and ends on Sunday, November 12th at 8:00 p.m. It is the second major Pokémon GO event in November after “Día de Muertos”.

What kind of event is this? Winter is here, the days are getting shorter and it’s getting darker and darker outside. Pokémon GO apparently wants to counteract this with the Light Festival, because it’s all about glowing Pokémon.

What bonuses are included? The following bonuses apply in the event:

  • Double Stardust for hatching Pokémon
  • Double hatching candies
  • Smoke lasts twice as long, but does not apply to daily adventure smoke
  • A temporary research will be active that will get you a shirt for your avatar
  • There is also the debut of a new monster and a fresh Shiny. We summarize all content here.

What can you catch at the Light Festival?

This is the new Pokémon: As soon as the event starts, you can secure the Electric Pokémon Blipp. It comes from the ninth generation of games and has a further development to offer: Wampitz. You can trigger the development with 50 candies.

You can see what they both look like here:

This is the new shiny: The Mushroom Pokémon Bubungus will appear as a Shiny for the first time. This belongs to the plant and fairy types. It can evolve into Lamellux.

You can also look forward to the debut of a particularly powerful Pokémon this weekend: Mega Garchomp appears for the first time on Raid Day, which takes place on November 11th and is accompanied by the Light Festival.
