What’s new? Niantic usually announces a research breakthrough just before the start of the month. The breakthroughs for October and November 2022 were already revealed in September. You can find them in-game under the “News” tab.

Research breakthrough in October 2022 and November 2022
Breakthrough in October: From October 1st at 22:00 GMT to November 1st at 22:00 GMT you will meet Ninjatom in the Research Breakthrough.
For this you get a smoke as an item.
Breakthrough in November: From November 1, 2022 at 10:00 PM GMT to December 1, 2022 at 10:00 PM GMT, you will receive an encounter with Starmie in the Research Breakthrough.
You will also receive a Star Piece as an item when you break through.

In general, the players say that Ninjatom is rare after all. So you can reliably fill your Pokédex with specimens of this monster. People are happy about Starmie because of the stardust. Nevertheless, one would have wished for other and stronger Pokémon in the selection of breakthroughs.
